![]() however, though at times few and far between, there were survivors. Thats a very fair point! corpse party was not a forgiving universe for anyone. someone said something similar before and this was my response: Yeah understandable, thanks for the reply. (im unsure how to tag spoilers in a reply if possible because im still a bit new to reddit, but spoilers!) she had a big crush on satoshi, and ended up getting decapitated while protecting yuka (if i recall correctly) but this can happen in a lot of shows, for instance (sorry i cant recall specifics atm), so that they can pull an audience in with things like a positive/decently developed character and queerbaiting, and kill off any possibility of an lgbt relationship ever happening, let alone just letting the character live without finding someone.īut yeah i absolutely understand how her “fate being sealed” was able to hurt everyone regardless just based on the strong bond they had, so as far as storytelling goes, it was a pretty good move.Īlso the trans character is miyu shinohara! i don’t remember what the manga she was in was called exactly. Valid point re: her personality! i was talking with others about how much i appreciated her character being so much more than a pervy girl in love with her bestie. (edited to not be a big wall of text/eyesore lmao) just curious to see others thoughts on this since i couldn’t find anything on google! no disrespect is intended :) i heard that in some of the other alt timelines there were other confirmed or implied lgbt characters that also suffered terrible fates.Īs much as i love/d the game/anime, i cant help but think that there may have been a lot of “bury your gays” at play, as well as fetishization of the lgbt community in general. i never really got into/followed much of the corpse party timeline aside from the main game/anime and that one sequel. buuuut found out (by by reading the wiki, not the manga) that the trans girl also ends up dying. I remembered hearing something about the manga having a trans girl in it (which was exciting! i love lgbt rep in all my genres and horror doesnt have a lot). but i also remember in that sequel game (book of shadows? maybe), even when you prevented seiko from suffering the same fate, she ended up dying anyway. i remember feeling so devastated by seikos death, and the ending to that absolutely destroyed me given how sweet it was. anyway i really connected with it/seiko in particular (for other reasons too, shes a great character). i do wonder if a lot of seiko/naomi was put in there to nod to the fetishization of lesbianism. ![]() being younger, however, i didnt really understand all of the fanservicey type of stuff. Long story short, im a lesbian who didnt even know for the longest time, and i think the seiko x naomi ship was one of the first wlw ships id ever seen. recently i was thinking about some of the stuff i used to watch from my past, and what it reflected about me before i even knew. Its been a long time since ive thought about this game/anime(/manga?) series. ![]()
